1987 Various – Music & Songs From Starlight Express
Music & Songs From “Starlight Express” is a studio concept album released in 1987 through MCA Records.Instead of a traditional Broadway cast recording, Andrew Lloyd Webber chose to produce this pop-forward album to celebrate the show’s New York premiere. The tracks were re-worked into stand-alone commercial singles—removing direct references to the musical’s plot—and featured popular 1980s artists. The project was primarily recorded at the Hit Factory in New York under legendary producer Phil Ramone.
