1980 Average White Band – Volume VIII
Volume VIII is a 1980 compilation album by the Scottish funk and R&B group Average White Band, released through Atlantic Records. The album is unique because it combines previously unreleased material with a selection of the band’s greatest hits.
Side one features four unreleased tracks recorded with producer David Foster. These were intended for the band’s next full studio album, but because the band was in the process of moving from Atlantic to Arista Records at the time, Atlantic retained the masters and released them on this compilation instead. Side two Consists of five of the band’s most popular hits from earlier in their career.
