1979 Rob Grill – Uprooted
Uprooted (1979, Phonogram) is the only solo studio album by Rob Grill, the long-time lead singer and bassist of the American rock band The Grass Roots. Released on Mercury Records, the album features a blend of Classic Rock, Country Rock, and Pop Rock, moving away from the signature 1960s sunshine pop of his main band. The album is highly regarded by collectors for featuring guest appearances from members of Fleetwood Mac during their peak Rumours / Tusk era.

This is a really interesting album to revisit, especially considering how much the music landscape shifted after 1979. It’s cool to see a band experimenting with different sounds like this.
