From A Whisper To A Scream is an by American singer Esther Phillips. It served as her debut record for the CTI Records offshoot label, Kudu in 1971, and earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Vocal Performance. In a famous moment of music history, Aretha Franklin won the award but gave it to Phillips, stating that Esther deserved it more.
